About Justin Bowie | Instagram
Justin Bowie has been a pub quiz host in the west end of Glasgow for nearly five years now. During the Covid pandemic he became the go-to host for weekly Zoom quizzes with friends, and when the world started to open up again he decided it was the perfect opportunity to get onto the pub quizzing circuit.
He started out hosting a weekly quiz at Banana Moon on Great Western Road in the autumn of 2021. Two years later he became the host of a Sunday quiz at the Deoch an Dorus on Dumbarton Road. He has filled in at other venues in Glasgow and Edinburgh from time to time, and lately has been the stand-in host on Sunday nights at the Tennent’s Bar on Byres Road.
Justin enjoys writing his own quizzes. They’re usually challenging but accessible, with plenty of tough headscratchers that’ll keep the team thinking without being overly difficult. His goal is to ensure everyone goes away having learned something new, while still having fun in the process. He’s a back to basics host - his quizzes tend to be pen and paper, with a music round typically thrown in too.
Beyond the world of quizzing, Justin works as a full-time political journalist.
