About Fuaim
Fuaim (the Irish and Gàidhlig word for "sound") is made up of Maggie Wallace & Ciaran Whyte.
Maggie a tin whistle/low whistle and mandolin player from Co. Roscommon, Ireland, and Ciaran is a singer-songwriter from Renfrewshire, Scotland. Their main objective is to promote and nurture the Scottish folk music tradition, through a combination of creating original compositions and collecting and reviving old Scottish folk songs. Fuaim are based in Glasgow, and have strong roots in the traditional music heartlands of Argyll. The collaboration looks to explore and showcase the music and stories of rural and oft-forgotten areas.
They are influenced by the likes of the Corries, Runrig, Silly Wizard, the Mary Wallopers, the Pogues, Skerryvore, Skipinnish, Hamish Imlach, Blazing Fiddles, Planxty, The Bothy Band etc.
